DaveyLabs

Experimental engineering and applied research.

DaveyLabs is the internal research and development division of Davey Group.
It exists to investigate early-stage engineering concepts, build experimental systems, and generate the technical data, prototypes, and intellectual property that underpin future products and commercial activity across the group.

Work undertaken within DaveyLabs is exploratory by nature—focused on proof-of-concept development, system integration, and practical testing rather than short-term commercial delivery.

Current Research Programmes

Advanced Energy Systems

  • Hydrogen production and handling

  • PEM electrolysis system design and testing

  • Synthetic fuels, including e-methanol

  • Energy storage concepts and system integration

Propulsion Systems

  • Micro-turbomachinery and compressor development

  • Experimental gas turbine architectures

  • Instrumentation, sensing, and control systems

  • Test rig design and performance evaluation

Research programmes evolve continuously as concepts mature or are retired.
