We support projects from early concept through to prototype and production-ready design, providing clear, technically robust engineering outputs focused on real-world buildability and performance.

Our work prioritises efficiency, clarity, and sound engineering judgement, supporting early-stage development, research programmes, and specialist engineering requirements.

Engineering Services

Davey Engineering provides design-led engineering services focused on practical outcomes rather than abstract consultancy. We work closely with projects that require clear thinking, buildable designs, and disciplined engineering execution.

Engineering Design & CAD

We provide professional CAD design services for new components, assemblies, and system improvements.

Services include:

  • Parametric CAD modelling

  • Design refinement and optimisation

  • Modification of existing designs

  • Engineering drawings and digital deliverables

Outputs can be supplied as STEP, STL, or drawing files, depending on project requirements.

Reverse Engineering

We specialise in reverse engineering obsolete, unavailable, or undocumented components where original data no longer exists.

Typical applications include:

  • Classic and heritage vehicle components

  • Mechanical assemblies with no drawings

  • Damaged, worn, or incomplete parts

Approaches include direct measurement, functional inference, and design-for-manufacture improvements where appropriate.

Deliverables may include CAD models, prototype parts, and manufacture-ready files.

Prototyping & Additive Manufacturing

We support rapid prototyping from concept through to functional testing.

Capabilities include:

  • Additive manufacturing with a DfAM-led approach

  • Iterative prototype development

  • Material selection for functional and durability requirements

Prototyping is treated as a structured engineering process, not a print-on-demand service.

Engineering Problem Solving

Independent engineering problem-solving support for complex or unclear technical challenges.

This service is suited to situations where:

  • A design does not perform as intended

  • A component has failed or cannot be sourced

  • A concept needs rationalising into a buildable solution

The focus is on understanding the problem first, then developing an appropriate engineering response.

Design for Manufacture (DfM / DfAM)

We support the transition from concept or prototype to manufacturable design.

Support includes:

  • Manufacturing process suitability assessment

  • Part simplification and rationalisation

  • Material and tolerance review

  • Transition planning from prototype to production

The aim is to reduce cost, complexity, and risk before manufacture begins.
